Tuesday night we had lots of rain mixed with some snow and a decent low temperature which resulted in quite the ice and snow storm. Which leads to:
Quiz time:
We are not at home because:
a) we have no water
b) we have no electricity
c) the only heat we have is the ONE gas fireplace
d) ALL of the above
You guessed it! All of the above. So we have gone to a friend of Byron's house in Louisville and have spent the day here and are not really sure when we are coming home. And from the looks of this house I do think we might just move in - wowza. Since it is Byron's friend's home I have never been here before, but um yea, let's just say it's nice! The county we live in supposedly has 80% of the people without power and they are saying approx 7-10 days until they get it back on... yuck!! But, really it's not too bad, like I said we are living in style here, it's warm (unlike last night!!), nothing is wrong with our house amazingly (except the basement might flood), and well Byron got paid today so if all else fails we're going shopping - just kidding. Here are some other tidbits about our adventures:
*yesterday we had water until about 5pm so not too bad and the fireplace was doing an ok job, so I got the entire freezer and fridge cleaned AND brought my scrapbook stuff downstairs and scrapped, but then quickly lost daylight
*the people whose house I am at do not scrap so, I didn't bring my stuff, so sad, I could really be cranking out some pages right now with nothing else to do
*both of our parents (who live in different towns than us) do not have power or water
* THE walmart ran out of gas today while we were in line
*we finally found a station that has power AND gas and they only had the Super kind left (oh well better than nothing)
*since this family has 3 kids about Cade's age he is in heaven here
*Cory has totally taken off walking, like all the way across the room!
*there is another family here who have 4 older teen kids and so there are 9 kids total and you know, it's not bad at all (a testament again to this house!)
* It's not really that bad, could be babysitting!! always look at the bright side
* THE Walmart was packed with people and the lines unreal as well as the shelves bare
* The sounds of branches breaking off the trees the other night was incredibly freaky, at times I KNOW I heard entire trees fall down
* I left my card reader for my camera at home so no pics to post yet, but I have been documenting
So how are you??? Did you get hit with it too?

All of the above applies to us too! From what I hear, we have water but no electricity back. The one gas-powered fireplace wasn't going to do it for us, either. Especially because sitting in the dark from 5 p.m. until bedtime would make for quiet a long evening! I'm getting ready to blog myself ...
lol...THE :]
