I did it! Registration complete! YIKES!! I only have 6 weeks left to get my time down by a sad 13 mins. My goal is to run this race (my FIRST race ever!!) in 30 mins and NO walking! Ultimately my goal is to just not be last and (here's the chubby buddy in me) to finish before the cutoff so I can get my free bagel! LOL! Nah, I'll just stop at McD's on the way home - kidding, totally kidding!)
I guess I'm doing ok - earlier this week I ran/walked 3 miles in 46 mins and this AM I ran it in 43 mins. So it's at least going down, and I WAS able to walk back up the stairs afterwards. For those of you who are runners I'm sure you'll laugh at my time, but I'm working on it. OR you may just laugh at the fact that I'm nervous about running a piddly 5K, but in my world, (a world where the last race I ran was middle school track and field and that was a sprint) this is pretty hard for me.
So, looking forward to Feb 8th weigh in - feeling like I've lost some and have definitely exercised way more in the last few weeks than I have in a long time. Wohoo!! My friend Laureen is running with me and I know she will be a huge motivator (she's been doing this for awhile). Anyone else up for it???
