A Basketball Super Star

So basketball season is over for Cade. He is not happy about it, but I believe he is happy about the progress he made during the season. A couple weeks back he made his FIRST (and only) basket in a game! The first picture is NOT the actual one made (honestly his mommy kind of didn't think it would go in so I didn't even try to take a picture... sad I know) BUT the 2nd picture is HIS real reaction to making that shot (not a great picture,
but you can tell he's trying to keep it cool, yet totally proud).
He had quite the audience that day since we were doing Corynn's party afterwards. This boy can hustle I tell you - F-A-S-T!!
His forever cheerleader -
she looks for him on the court and claps when everyone else does.
Of course there was an awards ceremony for all the players. He didn't know there would be a trophy at the end so there was some serious excitement that day - his FIRST ever trophy!
I don't think there are words to explain how proud of him I am! He went from being the kid in the back 40 watching everyone else play and not wanting anything to do with the ball to the PLAYER who was fighting for the ball, hands in the air for rebounds, attempting shots, MAKING a shot, and then in his final game showed the world his "SPIN" move. This was impressive I tell ya - he took that ball and dribbled around and around and around and around and ummm yea you get the point, he ran around for a good while - not passing or shooting, but you know doing his "spin" move. So yes, he improved and actually got in the game! So incredibly proud of him!
These are his stars he earned after each game. The colors represent things like most Christ-like, defense, offense, sportsmanship etc. The other sleeve has all green stars and those are for memorizing Bible verses. (I do believe I should take more pics of him like this - love it.)
Now we are off to Soccer season.
