December 8th

Today I am thankful for Christmas traditions! Obviously, there are several of these, but I will save them... there are a lot of days in Dec. I think traditions are just so important to children and helping them feel like they are part of a family. There is just something about them. When Cade was little I started getting him one Hallmark ornament for his fire dept tree in his room. In the last few years I started adding in another for the main tree that has something to do with what he is into that year. One year was an Elmo ornament, another Spiderman. I don't have his this years here yet, it's ordered - it's a Lego's one (I asked his opinion and he thought Legos was better than Star Wars - go figure.) I also picked up this one for Cory's first Christmas which she thinks is tasty - guess that means she likes it. I also ordered one of these from LA and it will say Corynn. I will put the name one on her tree in her room.. I decided to not do a theme in hers, it was just too hard to decide and I kind of wish I hadn't done it with cade's b/c now I don't want to stop, but can't bring myself to add something different to his tree. I know, I know, the drama!

Corynn's tree - it's made of feathers. This year I had to put it on top of the dresser but I'd like to put them on the floor at different heights. Oh and I bought those red feather things for the top b/c there are red bulb son the tree, but I'm not really liking them...
Another tradition I like to do is drive around and look at Christmas lights. I remember as a kid doing this on Christmas Eve and I think it was only that night, don't remember for sure. Anyway, I loved it! So I wanted to drag it out a bit more so we usually pick a new neighborhood to look at whenever we are out in the evening. Here are some that Cade liked (have to excuse the blurry, stopped in the middle of the road, trying to not cause major traffic problems).
