Questionnaire

I have been asked to be on a design team/focus group of sorts with 8 other great ladies from around the world - really - one is from Finland and several are from Canada (more info to come later). Anyway.. I thought it would be fun to post the answers to our getting to know you here as well. I am going to take out some that apply just to our group so the numbering is messed up but oh well.

Let's Play 60 ish Questions:

2- When's your birthday?
October 4, 1978

4- Tell us about you...
Wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, chick, list maker, organizer, cleaner, cooking hater, scrapbooker, goof ball, past teacher, a chirper (talker), photographer wannabe

5- How do you know LA/How did you meet?
I somehow found her blog and thought she was hilarious. She was probably one of the first people I ever commented on their blog and she actually wrote me back. (I DID ask her a question about Regina Spektor and our haaaaaaart's connected immediately.)

6- What's your fave Freckled Nest product and why?
I love the albums and keep saying I'm going to scraplift the sweet pretties on the sides in a LO

7- When I was young, I wanted to be(&why):
a model - oh please

8- Now that I'm all grown up, I am:
elementary teacher by trade but after my son was born I wanted to be home with him so badly but couldn't afford to so I opened a daycare in my home and have been doing that oh so glorious job (uggg) for 3 years now. I also do scrapbook for hire, and work for the purse company a la mode

9- What's your most embarrassing story?
When I was teaching 5th grade I ran across the hall to talk with my team teacher. I stuck my head most of the way through the door and was chatting with her and then shut the door like a moron before I moved my head. This was dumb but wouldn't have been so bad if her entire class hadn't been in there and if you know 5th graders they don't forget dumb stuff!!

10- What are your nicknames & which is your fave?
Tiki is probably the most common but as a kid my dad called me Teaquie Tootie (lovely and not that's not my fave)

12- Name 10 great qualities about you!! (modesty not necessary)

13- Are you married?
yes, we just had our 6th anniversary
Do you have children? Tell us about your family :)
I have an almost 4 year old son and am 14 weeks preggo - due in February, will find out who is in here October 4th - my birthday!! we have a mut dog and a German Shepherd oh and some lousy fish that I can't seem to kill off.

14- Who & what inspires you?
well obviously LA, great photographers, happy people, interesting people, hearing stories about people who beat the odds, people who love what they do for a living, people who share their knowledge with those of us less fortunate. :)

17- What do you collect?
so this question is hard for me to answer. I used to collect frogs and then everyone found out and then that is ALL I got for every event.... it was out of control and NO I don't collect them anymore my son plays with them. So I'm a bit timid to answer. Well, I think it's safe to say that I am a definite scrapbook paper slut and collect tons of ribbon and buttons (those I WOULD be ok with getting at every event...) I'm great at collecting dust in this old house and that's probably it.

18-Do you have an etsy shop/account?
I have bought off of etsy 3 whole times! so yes an account

19-What is your FAVE color and fave color combination?
THIS color is quite fabulous really and I have always been a sucker for black so these together would be dandy

20-What do you like to do in your spare time?
currently sleep, but normally travel anywhere, I want to see it all, I used to read like crazy but that sleep thing keeps getting in the way, and of course can scrap the entire weekend away if I'm allowed, oh and I also like adventure type stuff, rappelling, skydiving, skiing etc.

22- Tell us about your man :) And if you're engaged/married, tell us how he proposed... :)
Awww my Byron is great!! He is a fireman for the military post close to here (he's not military just a worker on post, but he used to be in the Navy and had some killer forearms for it.) He is a great father and is basically me in boy form. He jokes a lot and has many opinions. He is also probably the smartest person I know... don't tell him I said that though. There are some pics of him in my flickr HERE. I will add our wedding pic today too. As for how he proposed.. he took me to a restaurant in Louisville that I had never been to. We had a nice dinner and then at the end insisted that I get the Byron's delight dessert. I didn't want it. I told him I wouldn't eat it I was too full and he had a fit. He said he didn't care if I ate it or not just order it. So I did and on the cherry was my ring. He got down right there in the restaurant and proposed. Afterwards we took a horse and carriage ride around downtown and it was gorgeous except the lady that was driving the carriage had some serious problems and wouldn't stop talking... we laughed the whole time. We were married 2 months later in the Cayman Islands alone. Oh and he planned it all and surprised me!! I loved it!! (I met him in January, proposed in May and married in July) We KNEW... but we both had also been in serious engaged long term relationships before so we knew what we were looking for. Oh and totally forgot the reason I married him - he cooks like nobody I know.

23- What's your shoe size?
8 1/2 are you planning on sending us shoes??

24- What's your favorite body 'feature' (pretend you're a car) Pictures welcome, lol?
umm currently things aren't looking that great... how about eyes - brown

25- Show & share your favorite photo you've ever taken and why :)
Not sure - I'll label it in flickr - I was just thinking it needed to be one that is my fave not that I had taken!

26-Do you name stuff (ex. my macbook is Lollipop/Lolli)
no not really, people who do that are weird ;) I DID name my first car Hoopty though, and my child and dog have names

27- Boxers or Briefs?
I really don't look that great in boxers ;)

28- Coke or Pepsi ;)
used to be Pepsi all the way, but have not had one in a really long time (Such a BIG deal for me)

29- LA Ink or Miami Ink?
Will I get voted off if I say no preference? I've never watched either, but I would! I'll add it to TiVo

30- Survivor or Apprentice?
Survivor for sure - still remember the very first one!

31-Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy?
I'm better at wheel but should vote Jeopardy since my genius hubby wants to be on there someday

32-Apples or Bananas?
uhhh neither really but I absolutely will NOT eat a banana, so I guess apple

33-What are your guilty pleasures?
Well one time at band camp... HA... I would have to say junk food - sweets of any kind

34- Fave Ice Cream:
mint chocolate chip - I REALLY like ice cream!!

35- Do you have freckles?
just a few on my face

37- Who is your favorite Artist?
I'm assuming art artist... will say photographers are artists and pick Ansel Adams, there are just sooo many great ones!

38- What is your favorite movie?
Better off Dead with John Cusack from way back when I was a kid, began my obsession with John

39- Whats your favorite song?
Walk like an Egyptian by the Bangles (yet again another fave from childhood that will never leave) We've put it on my son's kid Ipod thing!!

40 - Whats your favorite band?
U2

41- Whats your favorite food?
still pizza after all these years, Byron doesn't understand how an adult can eat it so often...

you can see these on my side bar but it totally doesn't do the list I check daily justice.

44- Share a dream you have for your life :)
to cross off all of the things on my life list which I currently can not find. Basically, accomplish the goals I set for myself so long ago. A lot involve finding my purpose, adventure, travel, etc

this is such a tough question I'm going to cop-out and say my son, Cade

47- Do you have any tattoos (& what)?
yes, Hawaiian petroglyph mom and baby turtle on my lower back, looks like I will have to add another baby and another trip to Hawaii

48-What's your favorite TV shows?
Grey's Anatomy!!!!!! Come on Sept!, I also love Amazing Race and would give my left arm to be on it! There are tons more, but will stop with 2.

49- What kind of camera do you have
I've got several but the one I use all the time is a Canon Digital Rebel - love it just need to learn it more

50- Describe your home.
Not sure how much detail you want here but I am usually queen of TMI so here goes:
brick, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, basement, 1960's, Byron's grandfather and uncles built it, Grandpa did all the wood work, floors, cabinets, trim etc. We love the size but it needs some updating that we are slowly doing. It screams 60's in places!! We also like our town but would prefer to have land and right now we can hear our neighbors snore so... we'll see if we ever move. We get really antsy (I would have made a great Army wife with all the moving)

51- What kinda wheels do you roll wit?
2001 Chevy Impala navy blue and heelies (ha)

53- Who was your first kiss?
Daniel Rios - 3rd grade
Can you still feel the butterflies?
no but I remember being in that big huge tractor tire on the playground at school...

54- Do you still have an imagination?
yes but it's pretty warped

55- How have you changed and grown since you were a kid?
I'd like to think that I'm not nearly as bossy as I used to be and I definitely am not nearly as shy, I couldn't even call to find out store hours

56- What's your worst fashion disaster (PICTURES, loL!)?
oh probably just tight rolled jeans which thank goodness I don't think there are any pics. However, me and a friend in middle school decided we just weren't going to do it anymore and others seemed to follow

57-If you had one hundred dollars fun money, what would you want to do?
fly somewhere (obviously have to be on Southwest) new just to say I had been there

59-If you were single, and a friend were to describe you to a potential beau, what would they say to let them see how great you are?
I'm always up for adventure and love to be spontaneous, I tend to think more like a man on many things and can see their side quite often

60- Make up (and answer) a question that wasn't covered here...and we'll make that a separate post in a few days :) Where are some places that you have traveled? I went to Europe in college, and used to live in Colorado and Utah so I have seen a good portion of the Western and now Eastern United States, Cayman Islands and Hawaii
